Skirt has a bit of hype for its steak. I’d been here once long ago for my brother’s birthday. That experience was great. Service was good, and my brother thoroughly enjoyed his platter of different steaks. The chef behind the meats counter was very knowledgeable and happily shared this knowledge with my brother.
This review, however, will be from a more recent visit with a friend for our combined birthday celebration.
Another restaurant with lovely cutlery. The best part is that it matched the decor really well.
We were greeted with an amuse bouche. Watermelon with feta – refreshing.
Bread! It was soft, fluffy, and just delicious.
Salad! Beet and feta. Ingredients were fresh and it was pretty good.
Scallop caparccio with radish, ikura, and green apple. It was delicious!
Now, for the most important part – steaks! We were presented with a plate of their selection of steaks. The grades of wagyu and the different cuts and their marbling were explained to us.
It looked so tantalising and seriously whets the appetite.

I cannot, for the life of me, remember what our steaks were. What I do remember, however, was that they were excellently seasoned.
I ordered a dish that came with 2 cuts, small servings of each. I only remember that one was tenderloin.
Sigh, the beautiful pinkness always gets me.
I’d say the steaks weren’t amazing, but good enough. Steakhouse standard, but not my top.
For dessert, we chose light and shared a triple creme brulee. One was earl grey, one was regular, and one was chocolate. It was decent.
And, as most good restaurants do, we were surprised with a birthday dessert!
It was a fluffy little cake. It was a pleasant dish to punctuate our meal.
Overall, I’d definitely come back but mainly because their menu changes. Currently, their menu is already different from the one we had. I wouldn’t make the special trip for a significant date night or special occasion, but if I happened to be in Sentosa and could go for some good steak, I’d drop by Skirt (dressed appropriately, of course). Their wine is ridiculously expensive, but the price range for the cuts & quality of the steaks they offer are reasonable.
I must say that the service was excellent and the ambience was intimate. It’s definitely good steak, so I would support one’s decision to dine here.
Skirt treats you well, and you’ll be well fed.
